Market Research Survey Results May 2024

Research commissioned by Meeting Canary and carried out by Censuswide, discovered a shocking one third of office workers said they have considered leaving or have resigned from a job due to unproductive meetings in the past, rising to one in two Gen Zs.

Research by Censuswide on behalf of Meeting Canary. 1,016 UK Office Workers who take part in online/hybrid meetings at least once per week between 29/04/2024 - 02/05/2024. Censuswide abide by and employ members of the Market Research Society which is based on the ESOMAR principles and are members of The British Polling Council.

All generations are united by a loathing of meetings, or a feeling that they could be working harder

And 65% say they would find a way to track productivity useful

Dragging on meetings, interrupting and ignoring rank as the top three most annoying behaviours

But there are generational differences. Gen Z rank ‘ignoring others’ as their top choice, while baby boomers overindex in ‘arriving late’, ‘using jargon’, ‘people talking when they’re on mute’ and ‘people who have their camera off’.
